Making Out was a gritty, funny drama from 1989-1991 about a woman forced to take a job in a factory. The show like so many others should have got more than the (I think) two series the BBC gave it and a bit more publicity. It was written by Debbie (Cutting It) Horsfield and produced by Franc (Auf Wiedersehen, Pet, Quadrophenia) Roddam. The cast was uniformly good, but for me Margi Clarke (Queenie), Moya Brady (Klepto) and Keith Allen (Rex) were particularly memorable. Curiously, a few years ago Making Out turned up in the British Film Institute's all-time top 100 television programmes, as voted for by viewers.
