I recently heard a woman say "that was the church where I married my husband." However,is the grammer right. Surely it should be "Where I married my fiance, who is now my husband."?

The man in question is her husband now, she is talking of him in the present and the marriage is ongoing. Until the fateful words involving "I now pronounce you..." they weren't married, but once they had been spoken they were. So you can as easily see it the other way around...ie she didn't marry her fianc, since he remained her fianc only up until the moment of the marriage-words.
