But the moment in Planes Trains and Automobiles, starring Steve Martin & John Candy, where he flashbacks to all the times when John Candy has said things that mean he's alone is great, the music expresses realisation very well, and starts to comfort you that John Candy's character is not going to spend thanks giving alone. Why in detail is it beautiful? I suppose because you see a person, stopping and thinking about another, and about realising that things we do mundanely (even if it is christmas, Thanks giving etc) arn't accessible to all. The beautiful moment, I think is acknowledgement of this, appreciation of what we have, and concern about others. What have you done to me? This is one of the best comedy films ever!!
