For my sins I ended up watching the Breakfast Club on TV the other night. Perhaps I was praying for a quick death at the time, but I missed why it was Molly Ringwald's character was on detention.

It's not very important, I know, but the sooner this question is answered the sooner I will stop thinking about a truly terrible film.

P.S. Don't tell any of the lads I watched it!

she was on detention because she cut class to go shopping.theres has that put your mind at ease but imagine dissing this old classic shame on you(tut tut).
agreed ! bit of a classic this one(must be my age i guess !)
Must admit, I watch it every time I come across it on the tv....and know EVERY LINE!  Truly a classic!

Ha'way an sh1te, the lads!

LordyGeordie, it's a great film. Don't be ashamed for watching it !!

(Although I always hated Simple Minds - much preferred the Bunnymen)

I agree with the others that this is a great film, Not as good as pretty in pink though. I am heterosexual by the way.

Hello, Molly Ringwold, is she the one with red hair, if so she got detention because she cut class to go shopping, if it was the other girl in black, she had detention because she had nothing  better to do.

its a fantastic film and one a  kind, the director, John Hughes, invented the teenage school drama and directed other films such as Ferris Buellers day off , wierd science, pretty in pink, 16 candles, the great outdoors, he really is a god and an auteur you know.

Ciao
