Can anyone recommend a good but not expensive mobile phone. We have never had one before but realise we might need one just for emergencies only not for social chatting or taking pics etc. Just the most basic but reliable.

Thanks

Have a chat with your local Carphone Warehouse staff - they offer sensible and unbiased advice.

They wil probably offer you a 'Pay-As-You-Go' tarrif phone which is probably best for what you need - you have no contract, and simply pay for the time you use.
Asda has one of the cheapest pay as you go tariffs.

Might be worth your while having a look there.

Thanks to you both. We dont have an Asda anywhere near here. Ive heard Tesco do some good deals so I`ll pop there today and also to the mobile phone shop in town.
Thanks again
W H Smiths were floging off ( less than 15 ) older orange ones no camera etc ... for a very cheap price on pay as you go. If you use Orange you can get one free ( text ticket costs 35p - but that still quids in at our local cinema ) cinema ticket on every Wednesday too.
