Is this a uk spec car as I dont recall there ever bieng a 2.2ltr Cavalier here.  There was a 2.2ltr Carlton at one time but I think that was Mk1 and the Mk2 was being produced in 94.

If you changed the fuel filter very recently it is possibly that you bumped the fuelk shut off switch, all fuel injection vehicles must by law be fitted witrh a device that shuts off the flow of fule in the event of an accident, soemtimes these switches can be set off by a simple bump, like on Sierra's it was always the slamming of the tailgate/boot, as the switch was located either in the spare wheel well or for some incomprehensibly stupid reason, right next to the boot catch.

locate the switch, it should tell you where it is in th amnaul or a dealer might be able to tell you and check it, it's a simmple pop switch push it down and it should click , that's it set and it should start, It's oinly a thought, but a definite possibility
