Could any1 please tell me what the scientific term used to describe the arrangement of a Variable Resistor, Resistor and a lamp which connects in that order?

I'm really not trying to be funny, but do you have "circuit" in mind?

i do, im not quite sure how to describe it for you. it goes in a simple square pattern, starts with the CELL, across & down to an LED down and across is the VARIABLE RESISTOR (which links the bottom line to the top line just after the cell) on towards a RESISTOR then up towards a LAMP and round & back to the cell. Hope this helps!!!!
I'm not sure why you've included an LED. What's its function?
I think the term you want is 'Series Circuit'

SORRY its not an LED its a Diode i think! ops
