Norton AV was pre-installed on my laptop and after the initial 3 month free period ran out, I opted to install AVG's free Anti-Virus which I'm happy with.
But I have never uninstalled Norton. Obviously I'm no longer getting updates from Norton and so should I now uninstall it as it may conflict with AVG and run slower?

Yes, you should definitely get rid of Norton.

You can't uninstall Norton from Add/Remove Programs (and it's not got its own uninstall option). You need this:

it will be conflicting ... use the uninstall option as normal

then run the removal tool
