Surgery is not the answer - if you are sick of eating rabbit food now, think how sick you'll be feeling when you can only eat teeny amounts of very bland food as anything else causes you to vomit in a spectacular fashion.
Look at the diet you have to follow after weight loss surgery - if you think you can follow it without problem, try it for a fortnight before you give surgery serious consideration.

First 3 to 4 days after surgery - clear liquids only.
No tea or coffee for first three months. No carbonated drinks ever.
5 - 6 weeks of liquid only diet.
6-12 weeks after surgery - food shredded in a processor.
No bread, potatoes, starchy vegetables.
Certain foods may never be tolerated - steak, pork, burgers; citrus fruit; high fibre foods; spicy foods; fried foods.
Now, to my way of thinking - if you can live the rest of your life eating such a restricted diet, you should have the willpower to diet effectively without surgery..

Other surgery includes gastric bypass - where food goes straight in and goes straight out. You are nowhere near heavy enough for such drastic surgery.

your BMI is too low to qualify for weight loss surgery unless you want to pay privately which will be subject to acceptance.
I have an underactive thyroid and will never be thin (my doctors words!) I eat a healthy diet and exercise every day. I have decided against trying to starve myself and instead of focusing on my weight I have decided to focus on making sure my body gets good nutrition and I continue to exercise and avoid a stressful lifestyle.
I would see a doctor and get a referral to a dietician, they may be able to help you more. there is no quick fix to weight loss

thanks.......i wont be taking this decision lightly.......i mean i am totally fed up with trying to eat healthy all the time,,,i cant even have a beer at weekend( ffs!!)...as i say ive struggled all my life...anytime i was even considered to be thin i was taking drugs at the time...i just cant go on trying to eat little...i dont even eat too much!!!! thats the problem,i would understand if i eat chocolate and kfc everyday but i really dont,,,my mates at work eat 3 times as much as me,,,i have a physically demanding job and do not get a minute to stand about all day,im constantly on the go lifting heavy weights regularly,,,i have also been going to gym for 3 weeks now,,running 30 ins on treadmill...have been tested for thyroid-its normal!! ...im thinking....surely these people who have had the gastric band/bypass b4 me are/were in the same boat...they obviously struggled and now after surgery they are getting results? am i right ? who has had this type of surgery and failed???? i havent heard any horror stories...i havent heard of anyone not losing weight after surgery..if someone didnt lose weight after surgery surely we would know about it? anyone out there had it ???? and surely 5grand is a small price to pay for happiness after all this time ??
