when out with a big group of friends having a meal do you opt for pay for your own or just split the bill?

We always split the bill but if somebody had, say a bottle of wine, they would normally put extra.

depends on the friends. often mr CRX eats twice as much as anyone else so it would be unfair for others to pay same as us lol

see thats just it hau. there were 5 of us on hols and me and another girl wanted to pay for our own as others had starters alcoholic drinks etc, whereas we just had meal and a coke. But then I felt quite tight afterwards but then why should I pay for them to get drunk. I know if I was to order loads s0ds law they'd say pay for your own

in that situation sis i think its fine to say youll only pay your own.

And the girl that wanted to split bill then refused to give any tips saying its their job to wait on people which they get a wage for so why should we give them extra.

Mr kola always gets stung on works meals. Everybody else drinks wine except him and they don`t just have one bottle either.

I think coz me and my friend keep an eye on our money where as they just chuck their money around because everything gets paid for by their men

If we take friends out we pay the whole
bill ..but we only buy the 1st drink ..they
can do what they want at the bar ..
but holidays are different...suppose I
would pay my own bill ...

Hi 4get! Hope you had a great holiday! :o)

I go out with the ladies at work about once a month and we either go to the Indian or the Chinese restaurant. We pay for our own drinks and go to the bar ourselves so as not to get them added to the bill.
At the end of the meal we just split the bill by however many there are of us. If someone has a starter, pudding or coffee they always pay a bit extra. We always leave a tip too.

I always just pay my own.Im not tight but I usually only have a starter and I do grudge shelling out �20 instead of a fiver.I am upfront -same as on a night out I dont do the kitty as I prefer to drink at my own pace plus I usually only have halves of cider as opposed to Voddies and tins of coke or WKD

No-one minds as im just honest about it-no point sitting grudging anyone their pudding or their more expensive drink.

That reminds of a night out i had once- as the non drinker i was driving- i ferried 4 peeps to the restaurant, and had a main course only, with a small bottle of fizzy water, then a coffee.The others had starters, main course, dessert, liquer coffees, and a few bottles of wine. At the end of the meal when the bill arrived they were dividing it by 5!! I don't see them much these days :-)
