Cost of running home network please ?
1 Answers
I bought a gadget from Maplins to measure electricity use.
Usually half the PC's in our Home Network are almost always on with Router, Broadband Modem. Network Printer (Standby). At the moment half the network running is showing 500 watts.
NPower Tariff is 16 pence per KW
Am I right in thinking that would be 8 pence an hour to run half the network or is it more complicated than that ?

if 1Kwh=10p
a 1 Kw heater for 1 hour = 10p
for 10 hours = 10x10 = 100p=1 or 1.27502345 euros
the exception is if you have an odd tariff
I'm currently running 2 routers 3 machines 1 laser 1 switch 2 monitors 1 batt charger 1 phone charger 1 kvm at 479w
