Filming in London?
I was moved on by Police while filming student presenters in Villiers st, London. The Police said I was in a restricted area because of the proximity of government buildings (which were not in view) and under the anti terrorism act I had to move. It was just me and a student, we were not causing a disturbance or obstruction but I was being paid by the student to help them make a demo tape. Is this, as I suspect, more to do with the authorities wanting me to pay for the right to film around London or is it in fact illegal to film in certain public areas?

If you don't know the answer then fine, I Just wanted to know if I'm breaking any laws, which I suspect I'm not.
The ridiculous thing is that where they moved me on to was actually in view of the government buildings they were trying to stop me filming.
If I wanted to survey a building and not draw attention to myself I'd use my camera phone like anyone else. Using the anti terrorism laws as an excuse to control people is unacceptable, not a conspiracy.
If the Police told you to roll over and beg Postdog I'm guessing you'd be down quicker than a Wh@%*s draws!

Since the 7/7 bombings ALL commercial properties have had to pay extra on property insurance for terrorism. ((<thanks to idiot muslims>))!
Laws have to change for our safety and Police are paid and told by us to enforce these laws. You're bright enuf to use a camera but not bright enuf to be law-abiding!

Thanks Jen78, that site is really helpful, and confirms my suspicions that if youre paying the council suddenly you're no longer considered a threat!
To all the other postings I have to say that I'm shocked that such racism and ignorance is so wide spread. I hope that you are just a bunch of school kids trying to wind up people and suggest that you read up on how Nazi Germany came to power. Also watch the documentary 'Taking Liberties' I'm not saying I agree with all the points it raises but it does make you think.....and that is something that a lot of you are in desperate need of.
