Facebook Can't Click

Every time I sign in on facebook, my bookmark icons don't appear along the bottom and I have problems clicking on things - I can't interact with the toolbar along the bottom at all.
I can see invitations & friend requests, etc. but I can't accept or ignore them. My name doesn't show up in the Status box ("So-and-so is..." is missing) and I can't close the notification about Translation. I recently installed the translation application, - could it be something to do with that? I can't click to remove it...

Don't download IE8, use the drop down menu towards the bottom of the page to select your version of windows and click go

I updated my internet as you said, but it hasn't fixed the problem... any more ideas?
