Once they've eventually paid, they then spend an equal amount of time putting everything back into their bag before, eventually, moving on.
Aaaarrrrrggggghhhhh
I eternally regret that the European fashion for men's shoulder bags never caught on. I carry a large canvass bag for work - I carry three notebooks, a diary, a tape-machine, spare cassettes and batteries, a book to read, and that day's paper. All that is becuse I can sometimes be called to do interviews and i can't get home to collect my stuff.
On the weekends, i carry wallet, car keys, housekeys, pen, small notebook, clean hankie, and small change, all in my pockets. Aaargh! Why can't we have bags - easier, smarter, and they prevent those lumps and bumps in pockets.
I may be the only non-bloke in the villaj here... I hate having to have anything more than the bare minimum in my jeans pockets.
I like to travel light, so this means one note (fiver, tenner or twenty, don't like change coz it's bulky) keyring with one car key, front door key and work door key, and a bit of tissue for a possible snotty nose! And even this is too much for me!
