size of harddrive

A friend of mine recently bought a computer which only has a small harddrive capacity. He asked me how he could expand this with the minimum of outlay. Myself I have a very large harddrive which my son installed so I would not know how to go about it. My son died so he cannot advise me. What do other users suggest with the minimum of outlay. This problem arose because he wanted to instal Picasa2 and he has not enough space left.

But make sure you get an IDE drive as modern hard drives are SATA which is a totally different connector than the one pictured above.
