Sounds like a bit of musical snobbery feelap. My rock roots go back as far as Big Bill Broonzy and Chuck Berry, Fats Domino, Ronnie Hawkins, Bill Haley, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent, Carl Perkins, Stones, Beatles, Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Alex harvey, Genesis, Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Joe Walsh, Bob Seger, Bruce Springsteen, U2 AND Good Charlotte. Whether you like all, some or none of them, They all rock. I am 67 by the way but I like the same kind of music now as I did 50 years ago. Sad but true.

Donegal: Firstly, fantastic music taste, secondly, from what I can tell from your posts you may benefit from the "school of rock sound track" some great old rock tunes on it like Zepplin, Ac/dc, Stevie nicks, The Who, The doors, T-Rex etc.

My fav band are Muse but it's all personal preference I suppose. Would also recommend Green Day, The Killers (more indie rock) ..........

Somebody somewhere is going to disagree with some of my choices but I hope they give you some ideas! ;) 

Sterophonics new album "sex, language, violence other" is out on the 14th. that should be a pretty good album by the sounds of their new single, though it is only one track! :)
