does anyone know a good way of getting really big loose curls, that gives a classic look. cos im really into classic and iv been told that you need big curlurs and a big hair dyer, but iv seen a andrew collinge curling tong and i dnt no if it wud give the right look. please help!

Try these sites.  What is your hair type?

My hair is thick and has a wave in it so that if I wash my hair and leave it (don't brush or anything!) it goes into curls, have you tried that?  Or when it is towel dried run some mousse through it and scrunch?

I have some tongs at home for when I want really tight curls (kind of like Chrissie from EE) and they work really well they're by ......... oooh I forgot I'll find out........

Also, when your hair is damp turn your head upside down and use a diffuser dryer on your hair and spritz with hairspray every so often.

One thing I do is when you have dried your hair (not bone dry), twist it and keep twisting until it forms a bun, and hold it in place with a scrunchy. Leave it for a while- either 10 mins or an hour, and take the scrunchy out. Your hair will be wavy, depending on hair type.

hey thanx all for the advise! iv got blonde thick hair with a strong wave in the back,poker staright in the front (dnt ask how that got ther!)yeh ive tried just leting it dry naturally bt wen it did dry it looked like a birds nest! but i'll try all the other things u suggested! iv actually found out a really quick way of curling, with a starightner, twist it round the straightner and there u go and bake it for 20 secs! i did it da otha day with black eye liner and red lippy and it was v v 30's and no1 reconsied me, so i'll kepp going with that! idea and it gets the guys looking! most important!
