Welcome to digital TV.

A few years ago ITV, although regionalised, had one TV channel to play with and that used to contain repeats. ITV now has four 'main' channels plus the childrens' dedicated channel. Unless they commission 5 times more programming there will never be enough new content to fill their airwaves.

Now consider the other companies that have multiple channels.

And then there are the companies that do not commission new programmes at all; they are based on showing repeats but rebranded as 'classics'.

500 channels and nothing is on!

phil! phil! its me your old friend ned rierson! needle nose ned! awwoo how are you phil? do you have life cover?

awoooooooeee watch that first step its a dooooze!
personally i dont mind the repeats and the '+1' channels. they can come in very handy when you miss something as more often than not a quick trawl over the next 7 days programming reveals it is on again soon.
I wish ITV2 would repeat Supernatural! Its a great show and would like more people to get into it.
