Hi

I used to be a real fatty, infact I was 17.10 stone at my worst. I've gone from a 40" waist to a 32" waist, and now weigh 12.4 stone enjoy a daily visit to the gym.

Although my way of life has changed beyond comprehension, I do have two things which bug me. number 1, I have a large ribcage which is physically wide when I stand sideways in the mirror. Is this because I was fat? can I do anything for it? Second thing is I still have a flabby belly. What can I do to reduce/remove this? or will I always have one?

Thanks

Some people are naturally bigger-boned than others, so I'd try and forget about the ribcage thing.
You've done really well to lose so much weight, and if you keep exercising, that bit of flabby tummy should go down evcen further. Good luck. x

nice advice thanks, I'm determined to get rid of it, especially as I'm fast developing an athletic physique. I hated exercise at first, but I really enjoy it now. Are there any exercises which are particularly good for shedding the belly fat?
Are you male or female? Don't suppose it matters, but hundreds of sit-ups, leg raisers and swimming are best. You've really done brilliantly. Hope you manage to keep the weight off.
well done on weight loss have you spoke to your local gym about developing a program for you to tone up? whist it is drastic some people who have lost large amounts of weight need surgary to remove excess skin . Talk to your gp good luck

thanks again for the advice, its much appreciated. I've recently started swimming, which I enjoy, but I am a bit rubbish at it! I actually don't mind sit-ups, so this could work for me. I'm male, I didnt clarify that before/

I spoke to the trainer after circuit training tonight and she said that the tummy is a hard area to lose it and suggested something for kinesis. I have already had my programme changed at the gym, but not noticed a change on the tummy, hence posting the question.

As far as loose skin, it could well be the case considering how big I was. its not dimply and stretch marked though like ladies get after child birth, and is quite firm fat but wobbly!
Hey - lol!!!! I've had two children, and no stretch marks at all! x

ha ha sorry I was generalising there! What I meant to say was when *some* women give birth they have a dimply belly, mines not like that, but there again I wont ever experience child birth, being male and all! Sorry!! lol
All the above is good advice - maybe teamed with somo PowerPlate work. Some of the positions really attack the abs so maybe that would help?

PS I have lost 24lbs and feel great too!!
