Not everyone's cup of tea but you have to ask what makes a good hit record. It has to be simple and catchy with good lyric and melody. I always reckon the best pop song ever written which ticked all the boxes was another Scott Aitken Waterman - 'I should be so lucky'. It always comes into my head when I am tripping along the pavement. As for Rick at his prime he came along as an antidote to all the punk cr@p happening at the time. 'Never gonna give you up' was the most played record on American radio at one time. Go on - admit you like it!
