A lot of people on this site that are within reason knowledgeable about the Mechanics of cars & try to see an easy cost free to a point to try and save people money, you know it has taken me approx 1 min to put this thread in, & It would possibly take someone the same to say either Thank You, Kis my ars or as many do SOD ALL FOR YOUR HELP. To you people that seek help, If you cannot respond with a little thank you, why do you ask in the first place.
I think the easy way round this is to assume that you will never get a thank you or acknowledgement..... then if you do get something, it will be a nice surprise ! Otherwise, assume no response will happen but also assume that maybe the OP has read the answers and taken them on board in their life.
I think we all feel like this sometimes, especially if we make an effort to solve someone's issues. personally, the ones that drive me nuts are when you can put the obviously query into a search engine, and there's the obvious answer.. arghhhh!
Jugglering is right though.. it's very nice when someone says thank you, and a pleasant surprise.
Its like this tubeway, If I go into a shop and bye a paper I say thank you, If some ones directions I will give it, I do not want an HALO neither do I want an orange, There is a thing called Acknowledgment, after all as said some of us look for an answer to help someone, Get my drift?
Yes I agree, and it is nice to get acknowledgement and thanks, but many people do not bother (which of course is not fair) so I tend not to expect it. The worst ones are those that give abuse just because your answer was not what they are wanting to hear. All of this is a poor reflection on society - but it is not going to put me off trying to give advice and help.
