I didn't really leave 'home' as such as I was brought up in care. However I had my own flat at age 16 and was completely independent from that age,I moved to a different part of the UK at age 17.At age 18 I was homeless for a while and lived on the streets and in homeless shelters when I could get a place.
I left home at 22. I put my name down for a council flat back in those days and they were carrying out a new scheme where I got a very small flat after about a year on the list.
I left home at 22, all us children were told we had to be out by 23. Have never gone back still in the same flat. I have 2 mates that are 32 and still living at home infact my best mate is 27 and still living at home. Most do round here. The 32 yr olds are grown up they just come and go as they please.
I moved out to live with mates when I was 22... moved back home 3 months later. I'm happy here at home and it allows me to save for my own place. My boyfriend and I were planning to buy together, but will wait until it's a better time. He's going to move in with us down here until then, though, as he's applied for a job in my area already.
It's also nice for my little brother to have his sister around as we get on so well and our sister left when she was 16.
