budgie laying eggs.. wayy to much

hey!
i have had my wee budgie for about 2years and this is the first time that ive ever known it to lay any eggs.. it lays one vry other day but theyre always smashed as they land on the bottom of the cage. she has also been like rustling bout on the bottom of the cage, ripping up the sand paper which was a nusence untilmy mum said that maybe she was making a nest.. can anybody advise me on what to do or shud i o to my local pet shop about it?

Budgie use a nestbox that resembles a hole in a tree, there they chew the aging wood on the bottom to lay the eggs on. They don't make a traditional nest like robins and sparrows.
You can just ignore the egg laying as it will usually stop after 8 or so eggs. If you feel guilty you can get a budgie breeding box and she'll lay her eggs in there and probably sit on them. Ofcourse, you won't get any babies as the eggs will not be fertile.
Pet budgies go to nest at the funniest times of the year. .
