He might have offered a new car but doesn't mean he'll fulfil his promise. I'd report the matter to the Police - after all it is an offence to drive without insurance & all that implies!
Your claim is against the other driver, not against your insurer. Theoretically, you must sue the other driver for compensation. In practice, you can submit a claim to the Motor Insurers' Bureau. They will provide at least some compensation (but it might not be for the full amount) and then try to reclaim it from the other driver.
not yet because uninsured drivers father is getting money out of bank on monday morning i was very reluctant but thought insurane would only give bottom book for car so i have took a bit of a chance and hope he pays up
yes i got paid up not quite full amount. i can totally understand comments that he should have been reported to police these uninsured drivers are a menace to society but i had to way up my financial options. thanks for all for your comments.
are you crazy accepting less than the full price, i would of demanded it all and then a lot more for the inconvenience and to persuade me not to ring the police and then once i'd got the money rung the police and got another uninsured idiot off the road,
you've basically just told the other driver its ok to drive without insurance
read your question, yes your insurance with folk out if your fully comp, but my question is
"HOW MUCH IS YOUR CAR WORTH"
another thing is..
"WE SHOULD ALL TRY AND GET UN-INSURANCED DRIVERS OFF THE ROAD".
its these drivers thats putting up "ALL" of our insurance premiums up.
