today i have discovered that my pc has a virus. the message i get is that its to do with this.....fun_avcodec.dll. can anyone help me get rid of this as my oncare live doesnt pick it up. i think it is something to do with a media file i have recieved which is in my documents folder. anytime i open the folder ( my documents ) i get the message about an error has occured and it has to close. it then just closes everything down. please can someone help ?
I don't think that is a virus - it seems to be something to do with Samsung PC Studio. Try renaming the file to fun_avcodec.bak (rather than deleting it just in case you do need it again).
ok, i use that. just installed a new version for my new phone the other day. do you think i should remove it completely as i dont really use it that much ?
Hi Mavis, and sorry for not getting back to you sooner. Renaming fun_avcodec.dll to fun_avcodec.bak will let you keep running PC Studio for your phone and stop those error messages. Deleting it also works (as it's that particular file which was causing the trouble) and still lets you run PC Studio. But if you ever find that you need it, try looking for a more recent version of PC Studio on the Samsung site rather than reinstalling from the CD that came with teh phone.
