Well my pussy,keep it clean lol,is very very very untrainable,though havent spend that much time training,had a cat that fetched and retreived silver foil,but missy zebbi,doesnt seem to want to play the game lol!!!

Tone of voice and hand gestures can give the cat the message as regards normal things like not jumping up on surfaces or coming after food.
I think cats are far too independant to be trained to do anything they don't want to do or if there is nothing in it for them.

I don't know about actually training a cat, but they definitely can learn. My Frankie has epilepsy and needs a small tablet morning and evening. The first few times I had to physically sit him down, and then open his mouth. After about a week, I could say "sit Frankie, open your mouth Frankie", and he now responds to the spoken words with no problem at all. It is just as well, as he is only three and will be on this medication for the rest of his life.
