reverse gear

hi don't no if anyone can help me i've been having problems with my reverse gear lately i don't no if it's a habbit i've got into or there is something wrong with the reverse gear because everytime put in it does not go in i'm show i'm putting it in the right way,my driving instructer had problems with his car when i was taking lessons it anyone help me i would be greatfull.

Hi to me it sounds like the clutch has gone. Have you actually passed your test or are you still learning.

What make and model of car many cars you will have to pull up the gear stick or pull up a collar underneath the gear knob to select reverse
rtb0379 maybe if you take your time in selecting reverse gear it might go in easier and smother
i sometimes have that problem especially when I swap vehicles and ive been driving different sized vehicles for 30 year from cars to hgv
it can be very embarrassing at times as well
some cars you are actually supposed to depress the clutch and what 3/4 seconds then select reverse
Hi, try ginog into 1st then sellect reverse.
That works for me TWR, only I go into 5th, and then reverse.
Gearboxes can be amazingly bad-tempered, mine (Peugeot) wont go into 1st on a cold morning without going 'through the gate' first.
