I work full time as an admin assistant at the moment. I get ok money for the job that I do, however theres nowhere to progress to in my job and I don't have a clue what I want to do as a career.
I am really ready for a change. I want to train as something so I can progress and earn good money but can never settle on anything. I have thought about nursing but even they don't earn great money I don't think. Also thought about Health Visitor but you have to become a registered nurse first. At the moment I am thinking of Medical Secretary.
I want something that helps people in some way or other and that earns good money.
Also if there was a course at college that I could only do full time I would have to quit my job and move back with parents. I am used to having money and being independent and not sure if this would be the right move, but then if I get a good qualification I could reap the benefits in the future.
Nursing is a good option and can lead to Health Visiting jobs as well as a host of others. Go to your local careers advice centre they will give you lots of advice.
Also you get a bursary while you train, so are not too short of money especially if you are living at home.
Good Luck.
If you have administrator experience you could look to work in charities? That way you will be helping people and before anyone says anything charity jobs do pay, maybe not as well as same roles in other industries but they do. It's the volunteers that don't.
You can work your way up then to a fundraiser maybe or even something else?
If it's a carrer you want that gives you the opportunity to work with people and help them then Nursing is a good idea if that's what you want . If , however , money is your motive then Nursing isn't for you . I 'm not sure that a Medical Secretary earns a very good salary though I guess it depends where . All the best with whatever path you take honey x
Hadn't thought of working in a charity organisation eash.
I think I would like to definitely get the medical secretary qualification so that if a job comes up then I can apply for it but what if one doesn't come up and I am stuck with no job? A lot of the vacancies seem to be part time and I need a full time one.
After my divorce three years ago I was at rock bottom. On a whim I got a flight to Brazil. No hotel booked, just rang up a flight bucket shop from a Sunday Mirror advert on the sunday...then flew on the thursday. Whilst changing planes at Sao Paulo airport I got talking to an English woman. She lived in Rio de Janeiro but was originally from Kent. When we landed in Rio she got me a good priced hotel. The second night we went out for dinner. The third night she invited me round her apartment for a drink. For the rest of my holiday I stayed at her place.
We're still together and madly in love. She still has her place in Rio but spends a lot of time with me in Derbyshire.
Ahh thats lovely. It does go to show you never know whats round the corner. Think I will follow my plans and not worry. Gotta take a risk or two haven't you.
