Ok settle an argument if you can please.
Is it possible or even legal for a married woman to open a bank or building society account in her maiden name or even an alias.By the same token could a man do the same thing(not maiden name obviously).

It's not illegal to change your name so it could be done. In Scotland there's not even any legal process to it.
I don't hink however that you could use two names at the same time legally could you? If that was the point of the question then I think it isn't legal.
