My and my partner have been trying for a baby for a while and he has had a sperm count and he was diagnosed as having low sperm mobilty, i am interested in getting on the list for ivf on the nhs, do i go to see my doctor for this or my nurse? Thanks in advance.

3 of my friends have had this and were referred by their doctors. One has been unsuccessful and it has been a tough and tiring process for them all. Obviously it has been worth it to two of the couples though. Good luck.

yes your gp can refer you to the fertility clinic locally
Please bear in mind they will have strict criteria. in order for you to see the sort of criteria you will have to meet i attach the Berkshire (my local) criteria, although each PCT area will probably be slightly different

to summarize:
you cant be too old; you cant smoke; you cant be obese; some pre-existing medical conditions rule you out; you and your partner must both be childless, and never have had children before (either by giving birth or adopting) Cant have had ANY private fertility treatment before
