smouse - sorry to appear to have upset you again! Been away so only just read answers from past few days. My final totals for still outstanding are:

Triangles - still counting and trying to get a system going
Things that grow - 'Two Royal Names'
John Who? - No. 5 re Scottish Retainer - assume this to be Brown
Prefix/Suffix - High, Insurance and Ball
Who wrote what - SRWMC; AFYRH; ABSK

Any help now would be great thanks - if you feel like helping

Fordward - don't worry about my thread - was interesting reading as you were on another quiz!
now what one wouldt hat be?
Antonia Fraser = Young Royal Hostage
You didnt upset me it was just a comment

I hope that what me and fordward say is just friendly banter - no more answers if isnt and I'll get even more grumpy

Some of my answers are just filling gaps
I've put king edward but did see lords and ladies on here

dont know the books

I appear to have put life but not sure where that fits with ball?

Lifeball is a fun team game which incorporates activities such as

It'll do for me
always banter with me smouse enjoy it with you clever clogs, i see you came close inthe dingbats film one i had six wrong still theres always another one ,remember life is for living x
me to life to boring without a bit of chat lol
and the site if for friendship too in my opinion

agreed x
Still struggling. even after a few days away to recharge the batteries.
However, just to say I have Think Twice also.
I have two answers for Things that grow 7 & 12 (they fit but may not be correct!)
Still haven't got anagrams 9 & 18. With 9 I can get several capitals but then can't get two other towns. With 18 I feel sure it should be Jerusalem and Tel Aviv but then can't get third town!
Also still at a loss with Prefix etc for Leg, Mouth and ate.
And, of course, those two elusive books and authors!
If I get anywhere, I'll let you know.
Forgot to say:
Who wrote what 16: I have Jacob Bronowski and The Ascent of Man. So three to choose from now!
hi Munden your third town is Haifa
how about ulcer for your prefix
so what did you go for on 12 things that grow and 7
try the baltic for no 9
Many thanks Fordward. It would have helped had I written the anagram down correctly (LOL). I'll have a go at the Baltic one (that was one of the capitals I had). I like Ulcer, well done.
Things that grow 7, I have Cyclamen (green vehicle Cycle and Amen for albeit religiously) for 12 I have Leaves (as in a book) although I'm not too happy about it as it's not actually a plant but part of one; but then I also had Cone for 1 and not Ash so may have to rethink. Which leaves me with 14 & 20 in that section.
hi munden like your thinking on 7 uses both parts of the clue 14 think one of the beatles!!
I've put leaves but only cos I hate blanks lol
somebdy sugested HEDGES
