There's no such thing as free energy.

The "powermat" gets it's power from the mains. It recharges without wires through electromagnetic induction.

This has been around for a while but has not really taken off.

What's clever about this one is that it senses what device it's charging and adapts automatically

There are shavers and toothbrushes presently available that use this technique, but as Jake says, they have to be plugged in to the mains.
