I heard this piece of music on the radio recently and am almost positive it has been used on the soundtrack of a film I have seen... I tend to think it was some kind of fantasy film. I've not been able to confirm this anywhere!

It's a bit of a long shot but here goes ...

Vltava (also known as Die Moldau) is a tone poem from Smetana's Ma Vlast. It's featured specifically in an early film called Tabu (1931) by Murnau, but also seems to be referenced in the soundtrack of Shyamalan's recent effort The Village (2004) i.e. it's not exactly the Smetana piece but has a very similar style.

Hope this helps.
