What will happen now??
Hi all, On the 02/11/08 my car was parked in its usual place in the back street to my house. It was approx 6:30pm and in front of me was a suzuki jiminy. A bit later in one of my neighbours came and knocked and said this guy had reveresed it my car, then driven off out the street without any lights on. I knew which house he had been to so i knocked and got his realation to ring him. he came back saying he was sorry he didnt relise he had done it (load of rubbish) and that if i got some quotes he would just pay me cash upfront. My insurance have been informed for notification purposes only as i didnt wan them involved and got a claims handler. This guy is now saying there is no damage to my car and apprently he has sent photos to his insurance!!! there is clearly damage to the bonnet and bumper. Wat would usually happen next in a situation like this one?? any replys would be very helpful
Thanks in advance

Thats why I choose to go threw a claims handler with my garage who does the repairs you see.
You can still keep the car if it's write off under band D ie for cosmetic purposes. Ie it cost more to repair than the value of the car but the car is still road worthy. As above let your insurers deal with it. Presumably you have his insurance details. If not report the whole lot to the police and let them handle it.
You could of course tell him this first and then if he has no insurance he'll change his tune PDQ.
