Builder did not fit the plastic end caps or rubber seals properly to the glass roof panels, water and muck is trapped along the edges. The roof does not leak but the manufacturer has voided the warranty on the glass panels saying that the gas inside may be affected and could cause the panels to fog-up in the future. Why is this?

Because previous experience in the DG industry found that poor fitting was the primary reason why sealed units fogged up - tendency for the base to sit in water and (presumably) gradually get absorrbed through the edges. That was why self-draining systems and slots were introduced to get rid of the water.

Mine are just loose plastic trunking. The conservatory was only put up last year (lean-to style), I don't remember being offered an option for a self-draining roof system.

Thanks for your help!
