Ron, have you actually answered your own question? ie if the firm aren't answering your calls, they are probably carpet-baggers and have bagged your money. Did you check out their reliabiity before parting with money? You could try involving your local trading standards team, but the guiding principle with all buying is 'caveat emptor' ie 'buyer beware' - not everyone is honest, especially not online.
