I am trying to email jpeg images of scanned documents but keep getting 'this server does not support SSL connection'. I know SSL is secure socket layer . I can see nothing in the properties of the image about SSL .The only attribute on it is A - archive .
Any ideas please? as these need emailing .

nothing to do with the image, turn off SSL in the properties for the mail account.

in Tools, Email Accounts, double click on the account, More Settings, Advanced tab
It has nothing to do with the jpegs, it's the configuration of your e-mail client. If you are trying to e-mail them direct (for example, by right-click/send to/e-mail recipient) it is probably because you have more than one e-mail account (perhaps you changed ISPs at some point?) and your default account is not the one you currently use.
I really gotta learn to type faster...
