New Job and no p45

Hi guys I have been in my new job for 4 months and i have been trying to get my p45 but cant. My employer has moved to oz. I have tried his accountant but he said I cant have it untill he has spoken to my ex boss who no one can get in touch with. I have been on emergency tax and N.I for 4 mounths now. how do I resolve this as this is getting me down. A friend of mine said I can get a form from my new employer sign it and put the date I started to work for him and I will get a rebate from the Inland Rev any Ideas Cheers.

There is a lot of mystique surrounding the P45, you don't actually need one, a new employer can get the same info from you last payslip as ursula says. Any over paid tax should sort itself out when the figures are adjusted properly.
