Does anyone know the name of the poet who wrote a poem called 'Conversation Piece', with images of a hotel room, a rat, moonlight, and chairs upturned. Google has been fruitless, and I might have to make the effort of posting something up at the Poets' Library.

Francis Berry?

If that is the very poet, could you possible give me a few lines of the poem that he wrote? I'd be very grateful! A Google search has been fruitless, so if you have the lines to hand, please do quote them.

Just realised I've used the 'fruitless Google search' image twice, but please forgive it. They were a month apart!
