He was told 8ys ago that he had it in one lung -- now its in 2 of his lungs.

Unusual for asbestosis to progress after cessation of exposure...I presume that he is no longer exposed.
The X-Ray diagnosis, was it made by a Consultant Radiologist or Consultant Chest Physician?

Hi Squad 617 -- thanks for your reply.

it was a c.t. scan done at the hosp, after my hubbie went to check on how he's health is going .
he hasnt worked for 7 yrs now, and is a retired electrician. He has been told that he has "pleural thickening" of the lungs. Appearances are consistent with previous exposure of asbestosis.
Well that adds up nicely pusskin...........should not progress any further. If he is symptom free..great, but if he develops shortness of breath then drugs can help.

PS Any chance of an Industrial Injury Claim?
hey it can still develop to asbestosis. if you claim now you can only get around 5k and they have made that if it does progress to asbestosis that if you claim now you cant in the future....

Hi All--
hubbie went to solicitor few months ago to make a claim.
he was told that it may be too late, and seeing as he had no real proof of ailment, he let it go. It should be dealt with within 5--6 yrs we were told. Thats why he wanted an update as to whats going on inside him. he is due to go to hosp week after next to discuss an inhaler, and to keep a check by x-rays on his chest. Must admit, he doesnt really need an inhaler at this present time

p.s.

I forgot to mention that he's given up on making a claim --

says its just too much hassle.

Well, it sounds as though his disability is minimal, so probably he knows best.

hi squad 617 --

yes -- he's so lucky that it takes years to really catch hold of you ?
I know he's a bit scared really, and doesnt really talk about it, so maybe, what you dont know , you cant worry about it.

thanks so much for your replies xx
