Animal cruelty

I know someone who is keeping 22 cats in a small 2 bedroom house. these are house cats and never even go outside!! there are also dogs and other animals living in this house!!

your opions please .........

seems a bit much imo. I have three cats and could not imagine having more. I suggest that you call the RSPCA for impartial advice, then take it from there.

Yes, definately seek the advice of the RSPCA, they will keep an eye on the situation, and and take the necessary steps to ensure the well being of the animals.................welsh

I know a couple that are doing the same. Thet rescue the animals. The house only has two bedrooms too. The house is chaotic and untidy, but all the animals are loved and well cared for and there is no question of cruelty. I have had house cats for various reasons - busy road, blind cats, etc. Keeping a cat in a house is not necessarily cruel.

I would think twice before reporting them, before you have more information.

You must have your doubts about it, thats why you have posted the question. Report it for the sake of the animals they cant do it can they !!!!!!!

Do you know them personally or is this third hand. As long as they all are well cared for and have freedom to roam indoors, and they don't spend their lives shut up in cages, not all cats have to go outside, 'better to be inside and fat than outside and flat'!! Is there someone that can keep an eye, that perhaps visits the house on occasions and sees the animals on a regular basis, close family friend perhaps. If there is reason to believe the animals are suffering then of couse an outside welfare organisation must be contacted.

I would contact the RSPCA. They will decide if it is a cruelty case or not. It sounds to me like it may well be.

Again, i would say call rspca, u can do it anonimously if you want.
Many people keep house cats, but that many is too many!!!
