when can i expect my bundle of joy?!?

Hi everyone

I an 36 weeks and 3 days pregnant, (this is my 4th child although its been almost 11 years!!) I went to the midwife yesterday who in my notes wrote cephalic fixed. usually it has been cephalic free, so from what info i have got together on the net it means engaged. (i thought they usually put something over 5 for how far engaged, so maybe fixed means fully engaged???)

Among many other burning questions i have..... how long left?!?!!? I'm beginning to feel like a whale!

I know i should know having 3 before, but this pregnancy has been different from day 1. and i dont think i've ever fully engaged before labour as for the first 2 i was started off.

It sounds like u r fully engaged! However this just means that the baby is in the right position to deliver! It could be anytime or u could go to ur due date! All depends on the individual. Good luck. xxx

unless the midwife said you were fully engaged then Id say that babys head is engaged and hopefully wont pop out again (which they do with subsequant births)

in answer to your question howlong have you got left, i reckon baby will have arrived by 42 weeks as theres really no telling.
with my first he was fully engaged for 5 weeks before birth and even then i was induced and finally had him a 42+3.

I hope your baby arrives soon though, those last few weeks are the worst

i was 37 weeks and 2 days when i had my baby,i had been to the midwife 3 days before i had him and she said i was 3/5ths engaged so it could come anytime!he was born with a knot in his umbilical cord so good job he came early else could have been a different story!good luck,hope it isn't 2 long now!x

yeah, the reason i was asking is that my sister in law had her baby in december, she was 37 weeks, at 36 week and a few days she went midwife who told her she was 2/5ths engaged, she had him 5 days later!! i was kinda hopeing that would mean i didn't have long. I went straight shopping and did a full stock up for kids so they have plenty of easy to grab food!!!
