Is There A Way To Find Out If Certain...

I was once told by an army medic, that the best (people always say that "the best" it just struck me that it sounds stupid, so i will rephrase it) or should i say an allegedly very effective way of curing or relieving a headache, is to put a "cuff" from a blood pressure gauge around your neck, and pump it up somewhat, and this will lower the bloodflow in your neck to your brain, relieving the pain. now i can understand that if this works it would be useful, albeit for the fact that someone will no doubt try it and suffocate in the process. so i don't think it would be given out to joe public, but, i have heard that there are some points on your neck over veins/arteries that if when you have a headache if you press on them gently the headache will subside? with the greatest of respect to people that believe in it, i do not refer to shiatsu etc. which i have no time for in general, ever since a neighbour of mine when faced with the problem of his child having menengitis, called a herbalist out from 40 miles away who gave them lavender oil "UH!" for her ear. the child was then gravely ill for sometime the lavender oil having no effect. I rest my case! and i babble on for hours if not stopped!
Any offers?

I suppose there would be pressure points on the neck but considering how easy it is to knock someone out when using pressure on the neck I'd avoid them and try safer options.
