Do children have to be toilet trained before going to nursery school? Any tips on how to get 2 1/2 yr old boy trained?

It depends on the nursery - usually yes if it's a nursery school and no if it's a day nursery taking children from birth upwards.
Sorry , forgot to answer your 2nd question.
Type toilet training into the category search (bottom left) and you should get a list of similar previous Q's. Therw were some good suggestions given.
It does depend on the nursery. The nursery my daughter goes to (she is 2 1/2) will happily potty train my daughter when I think she is ready.

And as for your second question, have a look here:

Nurseries and pre schools (taking children from 3) expect the child to be toilet trained and to be able to drink from a normal cup. The previous advice re using the search on toilet training is good. I do not have a boy so things may be different but my 2 1/2 year old girl is now fully trained by day-it was just a matter of getting her used to the potty..getting used to mopping up accidents too! Now it drives me mad-we are up and down to the toilet all day long! I almost wish she was still in nappies! Great to save the money on nappies though.
