Not exactly food, but can you get any other flavours of toothpaste except mint? And who decided mint was the way to go anyway? Not that prawn cocktail flavoured teeth would be all that attractive but it'd be interesting to know if there was an alternative...

you can get a lemon flavoured toothpaste, but it's not great
When I was a kid I seem to remember chocolate and strawberry flavours, obviously designed to encourage children to clean their teeth.
My dentist used several flavours - the orange was disgusting.
Childrens toothpastes come in different flavours.
I think mint was used because it tastes fresh basically. It obviously sold well as all manufacturers follwed suit.
At Christmas, BHS sells chocolate toothpaste and whisky toothpaste.

in america we have several flavors!all of them are good!
you can get a variety of herbal toothpastes in health food shops
As ALLO mentioned, in the US we have many different flavors of toothpaste:  peppermint, spearmint, wintergreen, cinnamon, vanilla, orange, etc.  If you know someone in the States, maybe have them mail you a tube of an unusual flavor to see how you like it.
Try Aquafresh 'revive zones' toothpaste-'mint fused with watermelon quench'. Yes it really does taste of melon-quite pleasant.
