daughter update x

Hi all, well as some of u kno my daughter had some problems and was in/out of docs.
Now i recieved a letter today explaining that the appointment they gave her for 25th has been cancelled coz they made a mistake and put her in an adult clinic! so they have cancelled that one but cannot offer her another one in the allotted time scale they have to stick to, so she is now on the waiting list to get an appointment which is at least 10 weeks, if not more!
Im discusted at this, she already would have waited 5 weeks for the app on the 25th!
So now im going to have to pay �150 for her to see the exact same doc privately as she just cant wait that long!!
Poor thing is worried about her problem and still sore.... just needed to have a moan x lol x and thought i would let you all kno what was going on xx

Sorry to hear that - it's awful waiting for an appointment anyway but especially for a child. Nothing you can do when your child is suffering you just wish you could take their place.

It's disappointing you've had to go private though but I can completely understand why you are. If you get a prescription be sure to ask for an NHS one or you might have to pay more unless your GP will do you one.

Hi sheribee, I'm so sorry to hear about your daughters troubles. Have you tried calling the hospital? My daughter was messed about with cancelled appointments etc. I think I must've spoken to half the staff at our local hosp. pleading her case, and after what felt like an eternity on the phone, we got an appointment the next day. (this was just for a rapid access clinic not a specialist but it was a start) Sometimes you have to make a nuissance of yourself!
