But whilst writing a will can be easy you need to make sure it is signed and witnessed properly which can be difficult as you need parties to sign in the presence of each other. A Fpor peace of mind get a solicitor to do it- it won't cost much- maybe a 100
But you may not need a will to leave everything to your wife. In England I think it goes to the wife automatically, although probabte will still be needed. Do you have children? Do you live in England/Wales or Scotland (as it's different in Scotland where children have some rights to inherit)?

Whether you have a will, or not, the legal formalities required to be completed wiould take a little time, and until that happens your wife could not get at the money.
What you should do is have some money in a joint account with your wife with one signature required to operate that account. Then Mrs soicowboy would have access to that money immediately.
