As far as I know, the parties you describe are for unmarried people, so you won't be having such parties regardless of which type of marriage you are in :-)

Friends of ours who are now happily married decided originally that they would have two separate hen do�s. When the time got nearer, they decided it would be much more fun to combine the two and have a big weekend away�. which did seem a little pointless to me, but that�s how they wanted it.

I guess, like most things, people can have whatever celebration they want, generally there aren�t any rules for these things.
