I couldn't agree more. I thought last week's episode was particularly funny so my OH and I watched it twice.
I decided to buy a DVD of the 1st and 2nd series which we hadn't seen and when it arrived, my husband then told me we already had had it as a Christmas present. My son will now inherit the new one.
i love Lee Mack and this series. I noticed Tom vine wasn't listed as one of the writers. Didn't he write in the first two?
I'm glad they got rid of the american girl - she annoyed me a bit.
Last night's was really funny.
Not Going Out is a favourite of mine too. When so many sitcoms are going down a tired old route (another series of The Green Green Grass? Really??) it's a breath of fresh air. Lee Mack's humour is that deliciously "cleverly silly" style that we excel at in this country. He doesn't worry about "breaking taboos" or "challenging preconceptions" - his stuff is funny because it's funny.
