Listening to the news and had Alaistair Darling saying about the lower paid at �19,000 a year WTF???

I know puddicat,it beggars belief.
The other night on local news(TV) they quoted an average weekly wage for East Sussex as �35,000 per annum!
I think most ordinary people round here would be lucky to get �12,000!!!
Where do they get these figures from,and what world does it say they live in?

How has he worked that out? Someone on NMW and with a 40 hour a week full time job, is on about �13,000 a year!
has he no clue as to the NMW or does he think there are more than 52 weeks in the year? Or does he think most folk work 80 hours a week? it beggars belief!

No dot - these people live in the clouds and must think that everyone is on far more than minimum wage. According to "statistics" the average wage where I live is �34,000 - if only!
